Practice Greenhealth is pleased to announce that Carrie Meadows Abernathy, CMP, CEM, CSEP, Director of Education, Training & Events, was named one of USAE’s Forty Under 40 Award Winners, November 19, 2013. USAE is the online news source of the association community’s convention and visitor bureaus and hotels and resorts industries.
“I am honored to be recognized by my peers and the association community at such an early point in my career,” said Abernathy. “Associations provide an altruistic environment where staff can feel as though they are truly giving back every single day to their cause.”
The Forty Under 40® Awards will recognize 40 up-and-coming association or nonprofit professional who are under the age of 40, demonstrate high potential for success in leadership roles and exhibit a strong commitment to the association management profession.
Abernathy’s recent accomplishments include being named a Young & Aspiring Association Professional by Association Trends, and serving as Vice Chairman of the Green Meeting Industry Council Sustainable Meetings Foundation. She spoke as a subject matter expert at the Professional Convention Management Association’s Convening Leaders 2012 conference in San Diego, and also speaks on the circuit for MPI and International Association of Exhibitions and Events as a subject matter expert in the field of personal branding for young professionals. Next month she will speak to young professionals on the topic of “Career Evolution: Strategies for Job Advancement” at IAEE’s annual conference, Expo! Expo!, December 10th in Houston.
