Pet Sitters International (PSI) Revamps Annual Conference, Announces New Name, Logo and Mission
King, N.C. (PRWEB) November 27, 2013 -- Pet Sitters International (PSI), the world’s leading educational association for professional pet sitters, has announced a new name, logo and mission for its annual conference. The annual conference—formerly PSI’s Quest for Excellence Convention—is now named Pet Sitter World Educational Conference & Expo and the 2014 event will take place September 12-15 in Indianapolis, IN.
“PSI hosted the first-ever annual conference for professional pet sitters in 1995 and our conference content and offerings have evolved over the years to best meet the needs of our pet-sitting attendees,” noted PSI Founder and President Patti J. Moran. “With this most recent change, PSI has revamped its annual conference to ensure professional pet sitters have access to the education and networking they need to thrive in the rapidly growing pet-sitting industry.”
Moran also explained that the new conference’s mission is to provide professional pet sitters with face-to-face community building opportunities, the latest in pet-sitting industry research and informative sessions that highlight pet-sitter best business practices and the most up-to-date pet-health and pet-care information.
“Pet Sitter World is a ‘can’t miss’ event for professional pet sitters, and attendees will be the thought leaders shaping the future of the pet-sitting industry,” Moran added.
Early bird registration for PSI’s 2014 Pet Sitter World Educational Conference & Expo is now open. Attendees at the 2014 event will get the first look at the conference’s updated format, which includes a mix of general sessions, panel discussions, breakout sessions and optional workshops, as well as an expanded exhibitors' area.
Speakers include PSI President Patti J. Moran, author of Pet Sitting for Profit; author, speaker and pet detective Kat Albrecht; Andrea Fischetti, managing director for Chicago Pet Video and pet first aid instructor and author Denise Fleck.
The topics that will be covered at the 2014 conference include geriatric pet care, pet loss and grief counseling, preventing the transmission of disease between pets and other pets and people and canine and feline behavior issues. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take part in workshops covering business issues such as online marketing, staffing and expanding service offerings.
