CD-adapco Announces CNH Belgium N.V. the 2014 Calendar Contest Winner
New York and London. (PRWEB) November 27, 2013 -- CD-adapco, the largest privately held CFD-focused provider of Computer Aided Engineering software, is pleased to announce Pieterjan Platteeuw of CNH Belgium N.V. as the winner of the 2014 CAE Post-Processing Contest for his image of a New Holland combine harvester. The image illustrates the residue flow through the chopping and spreading mechanism of the combine, and was obtained as the result of a transient DEM (discrete element method) simulation in STAR-CCM+.
For the eighth year running, the competition has given users of CD-adapco software the chance to showcase their post-processing skills by producing striking images of their work. In winning the competition, and claiming an iPad Mini as his prize, Platteeuw beat off tough competition from companies such as Daimler, Gruner, Cervélo, and NRG.
CD-adapco's VP of Marketing, David Vaughn said, "The quality of entries to the 2014 competition was staggering, which is a reflection both on the sophistication of our userbase and of the technological capability of our software. The ability to communicate engineering information, while engaging with an increasingly non-specialist audience, is a key skill for any simulation engineer. The entrants to this competition have demonstrated that, although people are becoming increasingly familiar with simulation-generated imagery, a carefully generated CAE image still has the power to captivate.”
