Foundation Financial Group Helps Feed Jacksonville’s Veterans During the Holidays
Jacksonville, Florida (PRWEB) November 27, 2013 -- Foundation Financial Group announced that employees from the corporation’s Executive Headquarters, located at 76 South Laura Street #14, are teaming up with employees from FFG’s Jacksonville Regional Sales Center, located at 225 Water Street #2100, to help Supportive Services for Veteran Families feed formerly homeless veterans this holiday season.
“We are seeking very real and tangible ways to make a difference in peoples' lives,” said FFG Event Coordinator Nathan Gilliam. “Providing healthy food to those in need is an excellent way to start giving back to the veterans who have served our country and are making a comeback after falling on hard times.”
Foundation Financial employees are encouraged to donate canned or non-perishable food items. The donations will be delivered to Support Services for Veteran Families for distribution to the homeless veterans who have been housed through the SSVF program. Recommended food items include soup, chili, pasta, rice, vegetables, stovetop stuffing, canned poultry, and dessert mixes.
“Our hope is that Foundation Financial Group can give as much food as possible to SSVF during the holiday season to remind both the givers and receivers of the importance of blessing others and living life for a greater purpose than ourselves,” continued Gilliam, whose recent mission trip to Guatemala has reinforced a desire to help people satisfy immediate needs like hunger.
The Supportive Services for Veteran Families program provides outreach, case management, and VA benefit services. Child care, personal financial planning, counseling, and transportation assistance is also available through the SSVF program to help veteran families remain in or procure permanent housing. Donation drives assist the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs with ending homelessness for veterans through programs like Supportive Services for Veteran Families.
Foundation Financial Group conducts several philanthropic programs throughout the year. FFG philanthropy covers a wide array of causes, ranging from veteran needs to funding research for curing diseases or supporting FFG employees through difficult times. Participation in FFG philanthropy is purely voluntary, but the corporate culture at FFG encourages every employee to make a positive difference in the world.
