They may be only one month old but these twins have Movember ‘taches to rival any grown man!

The Emperor Tamarin babies are the first ones of their species to be born at Blackpool Zoo this year and proud parents Neymar and Lola are one of two breeding pairs at the attraction.

Famous for their Colonel Mustard type moustaches, Emperor Tamarins hail from Amazonia. Although the exact reason for their fine facial hair has never been confirmed, it is thought that the bigger the ‘tach, the more attractive the monkey in the animal kingdom!

Matt Stagg, Senior Primate Keeper at Blackpool Zoo, who is also taking part in Movember, said: “We were delighted to welcome the two new Emperor Tamarin babies at the end of October and the keepers joked that their arrival was just in time for Movember.

“As they are so young we are yet to find out what sex they are, so they will be given names once we have confirmation.

“With their fabulous white moustaches the Emperor Tamarins always draw a big crowd at Blackpool Zoo. I am sure the twins are going to be very popular with visitors over the next year!”
