Foot Levelers and Dr. Brian Jensen to Help Raise Awareness of Conservative Pain-Management at Jingle Bell Run Roanoke
Roanoke, Virginia (PRWEB) December 04, 2013 -- Foot Levelers will be joined by Dr. Brian Jensen of Kennedy Chiropractic Clinic in Salem, Virginia at the ‘After-Race Party’ of the 2013 Arthritis Foundation Jingle Bell Run/Walk Roanoke to help raise awareness of conservative pain-management solutions. This year’s Jingle Bell/Run Walk Roanoke is being held on December 14th and is scheduled to begin at 9am in Downtown Roanoke. The Foot Levelers After-Race Party will begin at 10am in the Roanoke City Market Building, which is also located in Downtown Roanoke.
A 1987 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Jensen is a veteran of the chiropractic lecture circuit and has in the past featured a presentation entitled "Breaking Free of the Medical Model." That presentation focused on the benefits of the biomechanical model of care, as opposed to the medical model of care. Formerly the Associate Director of Education at Foot Levelers, Dr. Jensen currently cares for patients at Kennedy Chiropractic Clinic and is also the President of DMX of Virginia, a radiographic technology company.
Conservative care for pain-management is getting increased attention, specifically after the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) suggested, in early 2013, people seek out chiropractic treatment for low back pain prior to considering surgery.
Participants in the Jingle Bell Run/Walk and attendees of the After-Race Party can get a free foot assessment from Dr. Jensen and learn how their feet could be impacting pain throughout their bodies. Dr. Jensen will also be reviewing methods of conservative pain-management, including Stabilizing Orthotics, which balance the body and help eliminate the potential causes of pain.
