World T.E.A.M. Sports Welcomes Anna Quinn as Administration Support Manager
Holbrook, New York (PRWEB) November 29, 2013 -- Van Brinson, World T.E.A.M. Sports CEO and President, announced today the addition of Anna Quinn as the national non-profit’s new Administration Support Manager.
Based at the organization’s headquarters in Holbrook, New York, Quinn will manage all administrative duties for the 20-year-old organization, including marketing and membership databases, corporate sponsorships and associated duties.
“World T.E.A.M. Sports is fortunate and excited to welcome Anna Quinn to our team. Anna brings with her a wealth of experience which will assist us in increasing our outreach,” said Brinson.
“I pride myself in being a ‘people person,’” said Quinn, who begins her duties in December. "I look forward to bringing my organization skills to help World T.E.A.M. Sports.”
A past employee with Long Island’s non-profit Family Service League, Quinn managed the organization’s accounts payable, receivable and billing. “My organizational, computer, and bookkeeping skills kept the team of social workers, nurses and doctors fully compliant with all federal and state regulations,” said Quinn.
In October 2012, Hurricane Sandy severely flooded Quinn’s home in Oakdale, New York, displacing her family until early 2013. “It was only through the kindness and generosity of family, friends and neighbors that we were able to re-build our home and our lives and move back into our home three months later.”
With a background in non-profits, including five years managing a fund that raised money for a memorial scholarship, Quinn sought a position that would allow her to support others, particularly since she had been the recipient of support following flooding from the hurricane. “I believe that the mission of World T.E.A.M. Sports does just that, encouraging each other through adversity, with love and support.”
Married to Suffolk County Court Judge and adjunct professor James Quinn for 32 years, the mother of two sons enjoys outdoor activities. Avid hikers and campers, particularly in New York’s Adirondack and Catskill mountain ranges, Quinn and her husband have white water rafted in British Columbia, hiked in the Grand Canyon, as well as visited Hawaii, Mexico, Aruba and “most of the Caribbean.”
“My husband and I plan to enjoy many years of travel and exploring new places,” Quinn reports.
In 2014, World T.E.A.M. Sports will be managing several inclusive events nationally, including the April 25-27 Face of America bicycle ride in Maryland honoring veterans with disabilities. “It's time to give back,” said Quinn of her new duties and her work in supporting the organization.
