Visit My Smokies Announces Brand New Ride Coming to Pigeon Forge Amusement Park in 2014
Sevierville, TN (PRWEB) November 29, 2013 -- Calling all heroes! On November 19, the iconic Pigeon Forge amusement park, Dollywood, unveiled the exciting new carts that will accompany the park’s latest roller coaster.
Visit My Smokies, the leading resource for Smoky Mountain vacation planning, was happy to share the unveiling with its fans.
“The Smokies are a great place for families to relax and spend time together,” said a spokesperson for the company. “We are excited to see Dollywood expand year after year with more family-friendly activities for families to enjoy.”
With a low height requirement of 39 inches, FireChaser Express will be available to kids as young as 5-years-old. At the unveiling ceremony Greg Ross, company president for the Pigeon Forge amusement park, expressed how excited he was to introduce Dollywood fans to the new ride.
“I think it’s a wonderful thing for your kids to be able to ride this ride with their families,” said Ross.
Themed after the brave Smoky Mountains volunteer firefighters of the 1920s, the new FireChaser Express ride will be the first dual-launch family coaster in Tennessee. During the ride, families are assigned the task of saving the Smoky Mountains from a roaring fire. They will barrel down the track towards the fire, and just when they think the ride is almost over they are launched back toward the starting point.
The opening of FireChaser Express will be a prequel to the Pigeon Forge amusement park opening their $300 million DreamMore Resort. Set to open in 2015, the brand new resort will have a total of 300 rooms, as well as a full-service restaurant, spa and salon, two pools, a family activity center and more.
