The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Unveils Its Redesigned Website
New York, NY (PRWEB) December 02, 2013 -- The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) is proud to unveil its redesigned multi-faceted and consumer friendly website http://www.isaps.org. “Over a year in production, this website is a milestone not only for ISAPS but for the global aesthetic plastic surgery community,” said Carlos Uebel, MD, PhD, President of ISAPS and Professor of plastic surgery at the Medical School of PUCRS in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
ISAPS is a leading professional organization representing over 2,500 board-certified reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgeons in 96 countries, many of whom work in AAAASF accredited facilities. For over 44 years, ISAPS has been a resource for its members and the public, continually educating its members, accurately informing the public and promoting patient safety. Following the rise of cosmetic surgical tourism, ISAPS has expanded the focus and content of its redesigned website to serve not only its members but to empower prospective patients around the world with information and connect them to ISAPS members.
“Patient safety is our highest priority because regulations, training and certification policies vary worldwide,” said Dr. Uebel. “We want to ensure that patients having surgery in their home countries or if they are travelling abroad are getting the surgeries they want from qualified and experienced aesthetic plastic surgeons. ISAPS members are certified by boards in their respective countries and thoroughly screened by ISAPS to ensure they have extensive training in the complete spectrum of surgical and non-surgical aesthetic procedures. Members have access to specialized insurance to protect patients in case they require remedial surgery at a later date.”
The ISAPS website has been completely revamped with visual design, improved functionality and expanded information which demonstrate ISAPS’ commitment to patient safety through public education and raising the profile of its members. Key improvements to the new website which benefit ISAPS members and the patients they serve include:
• Patient safety focus: Expanded procedure coverage and improved patient safety resources.
• International facing: New platform that will support an unlimited number of languages. The site currently includes information in ten languages.
• Member locator: Enhanced profile information on ISAPS members connecting patients to board-certified aesthetic plastic surgeons.
• Informative Content: Articles and perspectives by ISAPS members relevant to their region and in their language.
• Membership Application: Enhanced application processing system for new ISAPS members.
• Education and Scientific Program: More than 24 official courses and symposiums scheduled around the world.
• ISAPS World Congress 2014: Information on meeting to be held in Rio de Janeiro Sept.19-22nd 2014.
The website will provide patients with an even greater level of services and knowledge about cosmetic surgery ensuring safer aesthetic plastic surgery.
