Micro-Coax today announced that it has released for sale its new MCJ185A Space Flight Cable Assemblies, the only Ka Band space flight assembly optimally sized to offer the best possible insertion loss to 32 GHz.
"This product will outperform all comparable products," Micro-Coax Technical Director John Lewis said. "It is ideally suited to support both uplink frequencies between 18.3 and 20.2 GHz and downlink frequencies between 27.5 and 31 GHz. Although its diameter is optimized for 32 GHz, MCJ185A is still lighter than any competing product."
MCJ185A cable assemblies use a 0.185-inch diameter ultra-low loss cable with lightweight ARACON® braid and a black Tefzel® jacket. This cable is mated to specially designed SMK connectors available in straight and right-angle configurations.
Lewis said MCJ185A cable assembles are designed for Ka Band space flight applications aboard satellites as RF/Microwave interconnects, making them a good fit for the commercial and defense space market.
