My book is a collection of stories that needed to be told.

Knoxville, TN (PRWEB) December 04, 2013

Randall Baxter never was a soldier. He never went through boot camp, and he wasn’t around for V-J Day—but he knows many who were.

Baxter has always been fascinated by military life, and his curiosity and patriotism led him to found and host the nationally broadcast radio show “The Veteran Next Door.” He spends the majority of his time serving as a volunteer veteran advocate, helping veterans learn about and obtain the benefits offered to them.

In his new book, “The Veteran Next Door: Stories from World War II - Vol. 1” Baxter shares real-life stories of soldiers during World War II. The series of interviews tells what military service was truly like for the “greatest generation” during such a trying time in American history.

“While volunteering with veterans, you get to hear a lot of their stories,” Baxter said. “My book is a collection of stories that needed to be told.”

The book offers a glance at World War II from 13 different perspectives, but the author knows there are many more stories that need to be told. He hopes to create additional volumes detailing accounts from other wars as well.
