Foundation Financial Group Supports the Wounded Warrior Project
Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) December 03, 2013 -- Foundation Financial Group supported the Wounded Warrior Project through the Atlanta Area Chivers’ charity drive. With corporate and individual donations, the Atlanta Area Chivers were able to donate nearly $15,000 to assist the people who are injured while serving in America’s military.
“FFG’s participation was inspiring and the final result of the drive was amazing,” said FFG Event Coordinator Ryan Eichner. “I have watched the employees of this corporation rise to the occasion time and time again. So I knew that many within the Foundation Financial family would be willing to contribute to the Wounded Warrior Project. I cannot thank everyone enough for helping improve circumstances for veterans.”
Foundation Financial Group’s involvement, like most FFG philanthropy, began with an employee with personal connections to the cause. As a member of the Atlanta Area Chivers, Eichner wanted to help his group raise $5,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project. As the son of a Navy veteran and the friend of two wounded soldiers, aiding service members speaks to Eichner’s heart.
When Eichner told his coworkers about an anonymous donor who had agreed to match the Chivers’ donation up to $5,000 dollars, Foundation Financial Group volunteered to help the charity drive reach its full potential. Team FFG immediately launched a company-wide campaign to support the Wounded Warrior Project. In 24 hours, FFG’s Wounded Warrior campaign yielded nearly $1,000. Ultimately, the Atlanta Area Chivers almost tripled the original fundraising goal.
“My friends were different people when they came home with bullet wounds, burns, and PTSD,” continued Eichner. “There are simply not enough facilities across the US for the men and women who need help. Our military risks everything while fighting for all of us. All we can hope to do in return is take care of those who have protected us.”
Over 48,000 military members were physically injured in the recent Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, and an estimated 720,000 servicemen and women are estimated to struggle with unseen wounds like traumatic brain injury and combat-related stress. Wounded Warrior Project is a nonprofit organization that seeks to honor and empower the men and women who have been hurt during their service to America. WWP serves current and prior service members who have been physically or mentally harmed on or since September 11, 2001.
The Atlanta Area Chivers are loyal followers of The Chive, a photo-entertainment site that features funny, viral, and interesting photos from around the world. Chivers and Chivettes are not officially affiliated with The Chive. The Atlanta fans of the website have united. They have a Twitter handle and a desire to support various charities like the Wounded Warrior Project.
