Pop Americana Artist Eric Sommer is taking the long road through Texas, the one that stops at almost every stage imaginable for live music and acoustic guitar shows. And everyone within earshot of a stage where Mr. Sommer is playing will be happy they were that close.

Eric Sommer is making his way towards San Marcos, Texas... and that is good news.

First, December 6 brings Eric Sommer to Austin, Texas at The Slab Music Series at The South First Food Court; December 7 finds Mr. Sommer in San Marcos at Wake The Dead, a hugely popular hangout for Texas State students and December 11 finds Eric back in San Marcos at The Triple Crown, the center for live music in The Land of San Marcos, in The Lone Star State of Texas.

For folks unaware of an Eric Sommer show, remember to bring clothes pins, dominos and playing dice; it will all become clear. T-shirts are helpful, and the one-of-a-kind merch table is a truly remarkable arrangement.

Mr. Sommer is touring in support of Rainy Day Karma, his new record on CIT, and collecting new materials for his follow-up record that is next up in the studio. The new disc contains 14 songs, an instrumental or two and a lot of writing that mixes heartbreaks, jail breaks, tough breaks and tornadoes with social insights and urban decay.

Sounds delightful. And Eric Sommer fans can't seem to get enough.

With open tunings, slide guitar, lap-slap tone guitar and a remarkably aggressive fingering style approach, watching Eric Sommer will make you jump out of your seat and holler for joy.

There are very few players who have maintained this authentic American style of guitar and Eric Sommer is one of the very best.
