Instagram Video Contests allow consumers to share their experiences with their favorite brand by submitting entries via hashtag on Instagram. The new capabilities come on the heels of the Nov. 6 release of Offerpop’s Hashtag Gallery product, which also includes Instagram Video capabilities. The back-to-back product releases reflect the social software company’s rapid pace of social marketing innovation aimed at connecting traditional advertising with the virality of social media.

Brands that run Video Contests incentivize social media users to upload, share, vote on and comment on videos on a visual, mobile-optimized interface. Contests can be published to custom landing pages, Facebook brand pages, or websites.
