Washington, DC (PRWEB) December 03, 2013
Kit Check™ (http://kitcheck.com) today announced the Pharmacy Kit Accelerator Program that provides pharmacy kit automation software and hardware free of charge. Users only purchase tags as needed to track medications. Kit Check pre-configures the cloud-based software and installs the RFID scanning station hardware onsite at no cost.
“Kit Check builds solutions that automate manual tasks and free up thousands of pharmacist hours that provide more time on clinical care. We want all hospitals to maximize the time available for patient care. By providing a pay-as-you-go option that includes Kit Check software and hardware at no charge, we facilitate a quick and efficient go-live with immediate benefits to users,” said Kit Check CEO Kevin MacDonald.
Kit Check will be demonstrating its industry leading pharmacy kit automation solution at the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) annual Mid-year Clinical Meeting from December 8-12, 2013 in Orlando, Florida, booth #307.
Mr. MacDonald added, “At Kit Check we do things differently. From pay-as-you-go software, to one-hour system installation without the need for IT support, our goal is to make it easy for hospital pharmacies to eliminate manual tasks such as pharmacy kit processing. We tested the Pharmacy Kit Accelerator Program at over 20 hospitals in 2013. The program worked so well we are now extending the offer to all hospitals.”
Pharmacy kits still require a pharmacist check each time they return for restocking at the hospital pharmacy. Even though the check is necessary to ensure kit accuracy and patient safety, this administrative task doesn’t add value to patient care. Kit Check automates this process by identifying all of the pharmacy kit contents in five seconds and validates that all medications present are correct and within their expiration date. This eliminates thousands of pharmacist and pharmacy technician hours annually and frees up more time for clinical work.
