Diapers.com Supports UN Foundation’s Shot@Life Campaign for #GivingTuesday
Washington, DC (PRWEB) December 03, 2013 -- The United Nations Foundation’s Shot@Life Campaign, a movement to provide life-saving vaccines to children worldwide, today announced it has teamed up with leading online specialty baby care store Diapers.com for its second annual #GivingTuesday. On December 3, Diapers.com will donate a life-saving vaccine with every $50 purchase through the Shot@Life campaign.
Following the widely recognized Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping events, #GivingTuesday kicks off the holiday giving season with an international day of charitable giving. The inaugural #GivingTuesday in 2012 leveraged the power of social media and generosity of people around the world. In 2013, #GivingTuesday is bigger and bolder. This year, communities will join a digital movement of individuals and organizations that believe that everyone—whether a large or small donor—has a role in helping solve challenges at a local and global level.
“Giving Tuesday offers an innovative approach to the holiday giving season,” said Devi Thomas, Director of the Shot@Life campaign. “With partnerships like Diapers.com and Shot@Life, you can help provide life-saving vaccines to children around the world while doing your holiday shopping.”
This year on #GivingTuesday, when you make a $50 purchase on Diapers.com using the code SHOTATLIFE50, you will help provide life-saving vaccines to children who need them most. Diapers.com will donate $1.84 (or the current market value of the delivery of a measles vaccination) through Shot@Life, for up to $10,000. Good only on 12/3/2013.
“Diapers.com is excited to partner with Shot@Life and help give back to families worldwide this holiday season,” said Sumaiya Balbale, site director of Diapers.com. “When you shop for holiday gifts for the whole family on Diapers.com and our other websites, you can help us make a difference in the life of a child in a developing country.”
Vaccines are one of the most cost-effective ways to save lives around the world. You can give a child in a developing country the gift of immunity for a lifetime by joining Diapers.com and Shot@Life on this #GivingTuesday.
