Heidarsson Appointed New CEO of eDataSource

eDataSource appoints Gudmundur B. Heidarsson as their new CEO effective immediately. Heidarsson succeeds Carter Nicholas, who has successfully led the company over the past six years and will remain with eDataSource as Executive Director.

eDataSource, the leading provider of insights into the email marketing, social media and ecommerce activities of major retailers, today announced the appointment of Gudmundur B. Heidarsson as their new CEO effective immediately. Heidarsson succeeds Carter Nicholas, who has successfully led the company over the past six years. Nicholas will remain with eDataSource as Executive Director.

Heidarsson joined eDataSource in 2011 as SVP of Sales & Marketing and was promoted earlier this year to COO, when his responsibilities expanded to include product development, engineering and operations planning. He has helped build the product and service model on which the company’s current growth strategy is based.

Before joining eDataSource, Heidarsson served as general manager of e-Dialog's New York/Mid-Atlantic region, where he managed the account service, technical service and production teams responsible for email marketing strategy and execution for some of the world's most recognized brands, including Bed, Bath & Beyond, Washington Post, Trump Entertainment and Publisher's Clearing House. Prior to e-Dialog, Heidarsson was director of internet marketing for CBS College Sports and, before that, for Bookspan/Bertelsmann Direct Group (now Direct Brands), where his marketing programs made a direct impact on revenue growth.
