LED Lighting Upgrade Provides Savings for Mill Street Station
Lenexa, KS (PRWEB) December 05, 2013 -- Mill Street Station in Westport is looking brighter after a recent LED lighting upgrade.
Block Real Estate, the property management company for Mill Street Station, consulted Worldwide Energy for their recommendations to improve safety, energy efficiency, and maintenance savings. With that in mind, Worldwide installed ATB Autobahn LED roadway lighting to improve lighting levels while reducing energy and maintenance expense.
“The improved lighting is a big hit with the Westport Public Safety Office and the Kansas City Missouri Police Department,” said Jon Engelman, the Westport Regional Business League executive director. “It has also improved the function of the security cameras in the area.”
The project is estimated to produce an annual energy savings of more than 107,000 kilowatt hours. Due to the enhanced performance and reliability of the new lighting, Mill Street is projected to save over $90,000 in utility and maintenance expense over the lifetime of the LEDs.
Block Real Estate, the complex property management company, wanted the project to improve lighting and increase security and consumer traffic, while decreasing expenses resulting in lower CAM charges for tenants and a fully leased retail complex.
“Tenant safety is a top priority for us at Block Real Estate,” said Mikele Torgler, VP of Property Management at Block. “When we can incorporate savings for the tenants as well, it makes perfect sense to invest in such projects.”
The Autobahn ATB2 from AEL offers breakthrough LED technology with precision-engineered optics that provides exceptional illumination while also saving energy. The leading edge optics is designed to improve visibility on roadways, and offers a reliable operating life.
