Empower Network Serves Homeless on Thanksgiving
St. Petersburg, FL (PRWEB) December 04, 2013 -- A fast-growing tech company whose founders were once homeless took time to volunteer food and services for Thanksgiving to Pinellas Hope, a temporary emergency shelter for more than 250 homeless men and women.
More than a dozen Empower Network’s 42 employees feed the homeless at the Thanksgiving Day event. The software and web marketing company provided breakfast to the homeless and the volunteers.
“I was homeless at one point of my life and due to the charity of others, I am now able to give back to those less fortunate,” said Dave Sharpe, president of Empower Network. “It is my honor to give others the same opportunities that were offered to me.”
This is the second year Empower Network employees have donated time to Pinellas Hope on Thanksgiving. Last year, all of the company’s employees invested eight hours serving and feeding the homeless through Pinellas Hope.
Pinellas Hope is located on 20 acres provided by Bishop Robert N. Lynch and the Diocese of St. Petersburg. Founded in December 2007, it can house more than 250 homeless men and women.
