Lake Tahoe, CA (PRWEB) December 03, 2013

Snow and colder weather are on the way for Lake Tahoe this week with winter conditions forecast for today and into Tuesday evening according to the editor’s at TahoesBest.com, Tahoe’s busiest travel & tourism website that provides viewers with up to date Lake Tahoe weather forecasts, road conditions and daily Tahoe ski resort snow reports.

“The Weather Channel reports 100% chance of snow today in the Sierra Nevada with average depths 2-4 inches and temperatures down to 2 degrees Fahrenheit in certain locations Tuesday night,” according to Lindsey Skinner, editor at TahoesBest.com. “Looks like a good start to December and just what the ski resorts, skiers, riders and local hotels were looking for.”

In North Lake Tahoe, Squaw Valley is expecting 5-9 inches at the base and 8-12 on the mountain. On the South Shore, Heavenly is expecting strong/moderate winds and 4-6 at the base and 8-11 on the summit. Low temperatures through the week allow the ski resorts to make snow which further adds to snow depth and overall coverage on the slopes.

Caltrans says that chains and snow tire restrictions will likely be in place across the major highways in and out of the Lake Tahoe Basin.

Another smaller storm is expected this coming weekend which could add another 3-6 much needed inches of the white stuff.
