LearnShare Recognized for Contributions to Oceaneering’s Outstanding Talent Model
Toledo, OH (PRWEB) December 04, 2013 -- LearnShare, the customer-focused provider of corporate learning and talent solutions, was recently recognized for its role in a comprehensive career development and performance management system implemented at Oceaneering, a global oilfield provider of engineered services and products. Brandon Hall Group, a research and advisory firm focused on corporate learning and talent, awarded LearnShare and Oceaneering a silver award for excellence in talent and governance strategy. Brandon Hall’s Excellence Award is a long-standing recognition initiative for corporate learning and talent.
Oceaneering began working on this comprehensive project to manage employee training and performance more than three years ago. The system enables managers and supervisors to more rapidly develop employee skills; to align training to identified job competencies; to ensure timely completion and management of all compliance-mandated training; and to facilitate workforce planning.
The system was initially rolled out to the more than 2,000 employees, supervisors, and managers in Oceaneering’s Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) unit. The unit was selected because of the high demand for ROV products and services – and consequently, an ongoing need for talent; the technically complex jobs performed by the unit’s employees; the challenges of managing the unit’s globally dispersed workforce; and the rigorous compliance training required of the unit’s employees.
LearnShare worked closely with Oceaneering training and talent management professionals to develop master reports that document all development and performance details for each employee. The system also provides dashboards for managers and supervisors that provide up-to-the-minute training status for their employees.
"Oceaneering has created a sound governance structure, supported by a well-thought out automated system, to bring it to fruition. The result is a model that will support the company’s anticipated rapid growth," said Mike Cooke, chief executive officer of Brandon Hall Group.
"Oceaneering takes employee training very seriously and is committed to keeping its people current on all safety training – with the goal of preparing them for situations they might encounter on the job," said Randy Consolo, a managing partner for LearnShare. "We are proud to be Oceaneering’s partner in creating this visionary system."
