Information Security Leaders from Seccuris Inc. and AIG Join the (ISC)²® North American Advisory Board

(PRWEB) December 04, 2013 -- (ISC)²® (“ISC-squared”), the world’s largest information security professional body and administrators of the CISSP®, today announced it has appointed two new members to its North American Advisory Board (NAAB). The NAAB represents a group of 10-20 senior-level, volunteer information security professionals in North America who advise (ISC)² on industry initiatives, policies, standards, and workforce concerns.
The following individuals were recently appointed to the (ISC)² NAAB:
• Karen Kabel, CISSP, CISA, CISM, is currently technical solutions manager at Seccuris Inc. and has worked in the information technology field for 15 years. She combines a strong technical skill set and an information security background with extensive client and vendor relationship experience to manage the delivery of comprehensive and appropriate solutions and education. Karen also spearheaded the induction of the (ISC)2 Manitoba/ Saskatchewan Chapter in 2012, where she is the current president. She’s also a past president of the ISACA Winnipeg Chapter.
• Gurdeep Kaur, CISSP, CISA, PMP, CCSK, is currently director of Information Security for AIG Global Finance Division and an accomplished information security professional with over 18 years of experience in IT and 12 years of core experience in Enterprise IT Security Management. In her current role, she is responsible for providing guidance and expertise to successfully align business initiatives with enterprise security, risk, and compliance policies. Gurdeep also serves as the president of the (ISC)2 New Jersey Chapter. She received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Delhi College of Engineering in New Delhi, India.
NAAB members provide insight and advice to the (ISC)² executive management team on policies, programs, and initiatives that affect the information security workforce. As part of their efforts on the NAAB, members participate in regional (ISC)² leadership subcommittees, including the (ISC)² Americas Information Security Leadership Awards (Americas ISLA®) and the Executive Writers Bureau (EWB).
