U.S. Security Associates Invites Veterans and Military Spouses to Explore Employment Options on December 5th
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) December 04, 2013 -- On December 5th, U.S. Security Associates (USA) joins dozens of employers exhibiting at the annual RecruitMilitary career fair at Houston, Texas’ Minute Maid Park. RecruitMilitary is a veteran-owned organization offering free career placement tools to veterans and military spouses. Since 1998, RecruitMilitary has helped thousands of veterans and their spouses find meaningful employment through its career fairs, resume services and online job postings.
More than 55 companies are registered to attend the December 5th career fair, including many of USA’s clients. With leading local employers represented, the career fair promises to be a rich source of opportunities for transitioning service members to connect with companies interesting in hiring veterans. One attendee of last year’s fair says, “The event thoroughly catered to military personnel… all vendors had a working knowledge of military skills sets and how to apply them to civilian career fields.”
USA’s participation in RecruitMilitary career fairs aligns with other veterans employment initiatives the security service company is undertaking in association with its Recruiting America’s Brave campaign. Recruiting America’s Brave is a movement to hire veterans and military spouses, in part through partnerships with organizations like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, Warrior to Work and RecruitMilitary. USA is also a member of the 100,000 Jobs Mission, a coalition of companies committed to hiring 100,000 veterans by the year 2020.
In Houston, USA’s hiring managers are extending the security service company’s veterans employment outreach through a partnership with the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC), a State Service Office program dedicated to facilitating successful transitions for former military personnel and their spouses. USA communicates with TVC about security job openings and provides application materials for TVC to share with career-seeking veterans connected to the program. Wendy Blackburn, HR Manager for USA’s Houston office, praises the success of the initiative so far. “We’ve had so many veterans walk through the door and get hired. TVC has helped us recruit great people, and we’re really excited to recruit more.”
