LA Flower District Petallers Business Blooms With Dia De Guadalupe Rose Demand
Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) December 04, 2013 -- Business is blooming for LA Flower District California Flower Mall petallers supplying wholesale, and discount farm fresh red roses to hundreds of churches, and millions of Latinos expressing devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mexico’s patron saint.
Downtown LA Flower District California Flower Mall’s operations director, Hilda Jimenez says flower market wholesalers see a steady upward trend of early December bulk rose sales continuing to climb annually as Los Angeles Dia de Guadalupe festivities grow and evolve.
Red roses are central to the miracles the Virgin of Guadalupe performed for St. Juan Diego, and the Mexico City Bishop in 1531. Today, her image is a symbol of unity, peace, compassion, and hope, according to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Red roses are a traditional symbol of devotion to the patroness. Many place fresh red roses at the foot of the Virgin’s statue or image in churches, and private home shrines. Throughout the Archdiocese, lush red rose bouquets adorn church alters celebrating December 12 Feast Day mass.
The Archdiocese sponsors ongoing family festivities December 1 - 12. Red roses appear at every event.
2013 festivities began with a November pilgrimage of the Image of Our Lady to parishes around the Archdiocese. Next, is the 82nd annual Procession and Mass at East LA College presided by Archbishop Jose H. Gomez. The spectacular procession of decorated floats, Aztec, and Matachines dancers, Mariachi serenades, and thousands of Catholic faithful concluded with a digital reproduction of the original miraculous image in Mexico City.
“The Los Angeles Archdiocese hosts one of the largest, most theatrical series of festivities honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe in the U.S.” says Monica Valencia, Archdiocese spokesperson. The Latino Theater Company will present "La Virgin de Guadalupe, Dios Inantzin” a free pageant play of music and dance celebrating the miracles at Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels on Wednesday December 4, and again on Thursday December 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.
Our Lady of the Angels Cathedral is home to the largest Hispanic congregation in the U.S. In the rose filled splendor of the cathedral, the Feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe services begin at 6 pm December 11. Archbishop Gomez celebrates Midnight Mass in Spanish in an evening marked with mariachis, dancing Aztecs, and serenades of the Virgin. Throughout the Southland millions renew their devotion to the Virgencita Mexicana by attending mass with gifts of fresh red roses honoring their beloved patroness.
