Everything About Strip Clubs You Are Afraid to Ask
LAS VEGAS (PRWEB) December 06, 2013 -- We think we know it all about strip clubs and exotic dancing, but the real story is something much different.
“Stilettos in Vegas” uncovers the life of one mother who has trouble with her boss and works long, hard hours. Oh, and she just happens to be an exotic dancer.
The book isn’t just about a mother, but a woman who becomes an exotic dancer in Las Vegas. Peeling back the layers of a widely misunderstood occupation, “Stilettos in Vegas” takes readers on a titillating journey through real Las Vegas strip clubs.
No holds barred, “Stilettos in Vegas” is nearly a guidebook for strip clubs and what to expect.
Valerie Diamond, the woman behind the book, was a Las Vegas exotic dancer, too.
A career choice after her mother passed away leaving the family in financial upheaval, Diamond doesn’t consider dancing quite as exotic as everyone else. In fact, to Diamond dancing was simply that – a career choice to help her family return from a financial downturn.
“I want to build understanding of the lives of exotic dancers, reducing the ‘outcast’ label put on them by society. These are beautiful young women struggling like everyone else,” Diamond said. “As society builds acceptance to strip clubs, and women continue to seek ways to make money, the secrecy should be lifted.”
Diamond and McGann hope that “Stilettos in Vegas” lifts the veil behind strip clubs and the stereotypes behind them.
“The sex industry isn’t going away, we should understand it and make it acceptable rather than taboo,” Diamond said.

About the authors
Valerie L. Diamond gave up a managerial role in the banking industry to become an exotic dancer in Las Vegas to pay back family debts after the tragic death of her mother. After retiring at age 45, she was inspired to write “Stilettos in Vegas” to change society's concept of what life is like as an exotic dancer. Dr. Don McGann, a retired dentist and educator, was moved by the struggles and dedication of Diamond and decided to help her document her experiences in this book, which is partially based on true events. This is his first novel.
