Mario Rojas Joins HNTB Corporation’s Construction Engineering Practice in Florida
MIAMI, FL (PRWEB) December 04, 2013 -- HNTB Corporation, a leading engineering consulting firm in Florida, is expanding its construction engineering and inspection services practice in the state with the addition of Mario Rojas, PE. Rojas will bring decades of public service to the private sector in his role as senior project engineer. He is based in the firm’s Miami office.
In his new role with HNTB, Rojas will manage complex major construction projects overseeing construction engineering and inspection staff and managing construction, scheduling and coordination of projects.
Rojas previously worked for more than 30 years with the Florida Department of Transportation, managing critical projects such as work along the Sawgrass Expressway and Homestead Extension of Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise. He has consulted and advised Florida’s Turnpike leadership; reviewed proposed plan changes required during job construction to ensure compliance with engineering and safety standards; provided oversight for contract price adjustments, claim settlements, supplemental agreements, and other specific problems and challenges with construction contracts; and managed the first design-build project for the Turnpike.
“Mario is skilled at managing construction of the most technically challenging and complex programs,” said Chris Lory, PE, PMP, vice president and construction services leader in Florida. “With his hands-on knowledge of projects, personnel and practices, he will bring immediate value to our clients as they work to deliver critical infrastructure improvements in Florida.”
Currently, HNTB is involved with some of Florida’s most high-profile construction work, including Orlando’s SunRail Phase 1, the Miami Intermodal Center, Interstate 595 reconstruction in Broward County and State Road 739 (Winkler) in Fort Myers. In addition, HNTB recently was selected to provide construction oversight services for FDOT for the reconstruction of the 21-mile corridor of I-4 in Orlando and the replacement of the high-level Sisters Creek Bridge in Jacksonville.
