Horsham, PA (PRWEB) December 04, 2013 -- DonorPerfect Fundraising software announced today that nonprofit organizations that use DonorPerfect and collected online donations in both 2012 and 2013 on #GivingTuesday (the Tuesday after Thanksgiving), realized an increase of 162% over last year.

#GivingTuesday, the campaign to create a national day of giving at the start of the annual holiday season, encouraged thousands of nonprofit organizations to "Get out the Give" this Holiday season.

And it worked.

For organizations that received online donations in both 2012 and 2013, not only were overall donation totals up 162%, but the average gift amount increased as well, from $124.92 to $173.45 - a nearly 39% increase!

For nonprofit organizations, the "Giving Season" from Thanksgiving through the end of the year accounts for over 30% of their total annual revenue. In addition, days like #GivingTuesday, as well as the last two days of the year, can account for over 10% of an organization's annual budget as donors are more likely to give during the holidays as well as take advantage of tax breaks for the 2013 tax year.
