High School Kicker Grant Ryerse Raises $526 for Kicking For The Dream to Help Fight Ovarian Cancer
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) December 05, 2013 -- Surpassing his desired goal of raising $400 this football season, and with 25 days left in the fundraising campaign, Grant Ryerse, a kicker for the East Ridge High School in Woodbury, Minnesota has raised $526 to help Kicking For The Dream fight ovarian cancer according to Kicking For The Dream founder NFL kicker Billy Cundiff.
"Grant has an incredible story," says Cundiff. "While playing varsity football as a freshman, he used his platform to help raise awareness about ovarian cancer and beat his fundraising goal. He's proven that he has talent and wants to help make a difference off the field. We are proud to have Grant on our team."

Ryerse, a freshman who is the varsity kicker for East Ridge High School (and the freshman kicker as well), raised his donations for Kicking For The Dream based on his performance this season. On his Kicking For The Dream donation page he posted a set of options for people to support him which included:
$1 for each extra point made
$3 for each field goal made
$1 for each touchback on a kickoff
He also gave people the option of contributing a flat dollar amount (i.e., $25)
Ryerse ended his season -through 10 varsity games- with some pretty impressive results including:
- 46 extra points
- 1 field goal
- 21 touchbacks on kickoffs
He also had some pretty impressive supporters this season as well.
Mac and Mary Ryerse made their donation of $205 to Grant saying, "Congratulations on a great season! We are proud of your accomplishments on the field and for helping to support this great cause. (Note that our donation amount includes $25 from Grandpa Bill and Grandma Marilyn)."
Toni Pint-Burke made a $20 donation and said, "Grant, it's my pleasure to help you reach your goal in memory of my mom who lost her four month battle to ovarian cancer on December 31. Your grandpa John is a dear friend of mine and I am glad I saw his post on your fundraiser on Facebook. Best wishes, T."
And Art & Karen Bruning made their donation of $41 to Grant saying, "Grant, you have had a great year and done a fantastic job. Grandma & Grandpa."

With 25 days left in its fundraising campaign, Kicking For The Dream has already reached its first goal of raising $20,000 and has now raised $23,732 of its new goal of $30,000.
