Stryker Hip Lawsuit News: Conferences Involving over 900 Stryker Rejuvenate and ABG II Hip Stem Lawsuits Upcoming, Reports Wright & Schulte LLC
Columbus, OH (PRWEB) December 05, 2013 -- Wright & Schulte is currently representing clients in the State and federal litigations established for Stryker hip lawsuits filed in the wake of the 2012 recall of Rejuvenate and ABG II hip stems and notes it will convene conferences later this month. According to court documents filed in the multicounty litigation underway in New Jersey’s Bergen County Superior Court, a Case Management Conference will be held on December 16, 2013 at 9:45 a.m. (In re Stryker Rejuvenate Hip Stem and the ABG II Modular Hip Stem Litigation, No. 296) The federal multidistrict litigation underway in U.S. District Court, District of Minnesota for Stryker hip lawsuits has scheduled its next Status Conference for December 19, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. (In Re: Stryker Rejuvenate and ABG II Hip Implant Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2441). Wright and Schulte LLC continues to offer free Stryker hip lawsuit legal evaluations to those effected by the Stryker hip recall and for more information can visit their website.
The firm also indicates that court documents indicate more than 900 Stryker hip recall lawsuits have been filed in courts around the country since the Rejuvenate and ABG II hip stems were removed from the market in July 2012. This includes more than 550 claims filed in the New Jersey proceeding. Nearly 400 claims involving similar allegation are pending in Minnesota Federal Court.
Court documents further state all Stryker Rejuvenate lawsuits and Stryker ABG II lawsuits pending in the state and federal Stryker hip recall litigations allege that the Rejuvenate and ABG II stems can cause metallosis, necrosis, osteolysis and other serious complications due to the defective nature of the components. The Stryker Rejuvenate lawsuits and Stryker ABG II lawsuits further allege that many Stryker hip recall patients have undergone revision surgery to have their failing Stryker hip removed, while others will likely need revision surgery in the future.
Wright & Schulte LLC notes the Stryker hip replacement recall was announced because of a high number of reports of the metal components fretting and corroding at the modular-neck junction. According to the Stryker Rejuvenate lawsuits and Stryker ABG II lawsuits, this action can generate unhealthy levels of microscopic metal particles that may accumulate in the tissue surrounding the joint, and in the blood stream. According to Stryker, patients who have experienced this phenomenon have suffered pain, swelling, and adverse local tissue reactions.
