Giving Racers the Edge in Life: Kahtoola Supports Aspen Summit for Life Event by Donating 300 Pairs of MICROspikes
Flagstaff, Arizona (PRWEB) December 05, 2013 -- For the 7th year in a row, Kahtoola, the brand dedicated to its community and to creating the ultimate in traction footwear, supports the annual Aspen Summit for Life Race this December by donating hundreds of pairs of award-winning MICROspikes to all race participants.
Each year, hundreds of Aspen locals, donor recipients, donor families and supporters, walk, run and race to the top of one of the most iconic mountains in the US - climbing 3,267 vertical feet and covering over 2.5 miles. The goal? To promote a healthy, active life for all who have been touched by organ donation and to raise money to support the Chris Klug Foundation, an organization dedicated to promoting lifesaving donation and improving the quality of life for those touched by donation.
“This will be our 7th year attending the Summit for Life Event and each and every year our team walks away truly touched by the people that take part in the climb.” said Hilary Childs, Kahtoola Associate. “Listening to the stories of those who received the gift of life through donations is both inspiring and eye opening. We are honored to be a part of such a meaningful day, and will continue to support it for years to come.”
Those that participate in the event know, the terrain is tough – slippery, cold and unpredictable and the climb can take up to 2.5 hours, past nightfall. In these conditions, it’s as important as ever to ensure participants have the best gear to keep them safe and comfortable during the climb.
Kahtoola MICROspikes is just that gear. Built to slip over any shoe or boot and made with 12 spikes to dig into the toughest snow or ice, they are instant traction on your feet - allowing all participants to climb comfortably and securely to the top and celebrate all that they have given, received, and continue to support, through their climb.
The Aspen Summit for Life Event will take place December 6 – 7 in Aspen, CO. All participants will receive a pair of Kahtoola’s award-winning MICROspikes for the climb. Proceeds and donations from the event go to the Chris Klug Foundation, a cause dedicated to promoting lifesaving organ and tissue donation.
