Ted Pearse has always had a philosophy about customer service – do whatever it takes to make sure the client is happy. It’s that commitment to service that Ted Pearse is looking to bring to his new business, Fresh Coat Painters of Lawrenceville.

Fresh Coat Painters offers residential and commercial painting services including interior and exterior painting, wood staining and finishing, and other services for nearly every protective coating application. They use quality, environmentally safe materials and offer a 24/7 customer service center, online scheduling and detailed quotes.

“I’ve always made it a point to take great care of my customers. When I was in food service, the people I worked with loved me because I fixed problems. In any business, it’s about building relationships. That’s how I’m approaching the painting business as well,” Pearse said.

Fresh Coat also is committed to the 3-3-3 pledge, which means calls will be answered in three minutes, a quote will be delivered in three days (customer schedule permitting) and the job can be started within three weeks.

Pearse’s background has helped him to understand how to run a business and satisfy clients. His experience includes everything from owning a small family sandwich shop to running a food service business with a $22 million budget.

“I’ve painted every apartment and house I’ve lived in for the last 34 years, so I know what it takes. I’ve been in food service for 40 years, but I wanted to get out of the rat race and work for myself. I knew I wanted to work hard for myself and have a way to make a difference in my community. My fellow Fresh Coat owners in the area and I are looking forward to getting more involved, especially with projects like Habitat for Humanity. We think that’s important,” he said.

Pearse and his wife Lauren, who works for The American Red Cross, have two teenage sons. He’s also excited to be coaching in the Brookwood Basketball Association and serving as a board member and commissioner of the 13/14 league.

Fresh Coat was founded in 2004 as part of Strategic Franchising Systems. In the last year, Fresh Coat has been included in the Bond’s Top 100 and named to Entrepreneur Magazine’s Franchise 500 list. Fresh Coat also is part of the International Franchise Association, the Small Business Association’s Franchise Registry, VetFran and Minority Fran.
