Growth in Cold and Ultracold Company Market Prompts Move

We have experienced impressive growth in the last two years and have outgrown our current laboratories and office space.

ColdQuanta, Inc. is expanding to a facility two and a half times larger than its current facility. Currently located on Range Street in Boulder, the new facility is less than two miles away at 3030 Sterling Circle.

“We have experienced impressive growth in the last two years and have outgrown our current laboratories and office space.” said Rainer Kunz, CEO of ColdQuanta. He added, “The new location will allow us to acquire new equipment, grow our manufacturing abilities and accommodate future growth.”

Previously, ColdQuanta was responsible for the first commercial BEC for use – a milestone in the field. Their technology was responsible for providing the Korea National University with their first ever BEC. ColdQuanta also has transformed the process of producing BEC by creating a table-top version of their system, as well as potentially going where no BEC system has gone before by being a part of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory program that is designed to achieve Bose-Einstein Condensation in space aboard the International Space Station.

The employees and management of the company particularly wanted to stay within Boulder and were pleased that the company’s current landlord Westland Development had a property available large enough to accommodate ColdQuanta’s requirements.

The new 8,200 square foot facility will provide room for additional lab and office space and will also house increased vacuum processing space. Founded in 2007, ColdQuanta is the worldwide commercial leader in devices and equipment designed to create cold and ultracold atoms.

ColdQuanta focuses on the development of BEC (Bose-Einstein Condensate) and cold atom generating devices and systems, allowing them to be accessible to a wide range of research, educational, and industrial institutions. Their products are intended for use in scientific and industrial applications requiring high performance and reliability. The company also provides custom engineering solutions to the cold atom and ultracold atom community.
