Miami Beach, FL (PRWEB) December 05, 2013 -- More than 5,000 people were diagnosed with lymphoma – the most common form of blood cancer – in Florida last year alone. To raise critical funds for blood cancer research, the Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF) – the nation’s largest non-profit organization devoted exclusively to funding innovative lymphoma research and serving the lymphoma community through a comprehensive series of education programs, outreach initiatives and patient services – will host its first-ever Miami area wine tasting event at La Gorce Country Club on December 10.
Swirl, A Wine Tasting Event will feature wines from of some of the most sought after vineyards, including: Perrier Jouët Grand Brut, Champagne, France; Château d’Esclans Whispering Angel Rosé, Côtes de Provence, France; Newton Unfiltered Chardonnay, Napa Valley, USA; Brancott Estate Letter Series 'B' Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand; Olivier Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet, France; Penfolds Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon, South Australia; Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Fay Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, USA; Numanthia Termes Tempranillo, Spain. The wines, generously donated from Southern Wine and Spirits of America, Inc., will be paired with selections from the La Gorce culinary team. All proceeds from the event will support the LRF mission, to eradicate lymphoma and serve those touched by this disease.
“We are incredibly excited by this unique event, which will raise critical funds for lymphoma research as well as awareness about the disease,” said Leigh Olson, LRF Board member and event co-chair. “As someone whose family has been personally affected by lymphoma, this event is particularly meaningful to me; I am hopeful that this year’s event will be the first of many.”
Swirl, A Wine Tasting Event will be co-chaired by Debbie and Kevin Fennessey, Barbara and Jerry Freundlich, Leigh and Cory Olson, and Florence and Robert Werner. The exclusive event will take place on Tuesday, December 10 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm at La Gorce Country Club in Miami Beach, FL. Individual tickets for the event are $100.
