Western Modernist Design of the Tetons Featured in New Book about Ward + Blake Architects of Jackson Hole
Jackson Hole, Wyoming (PRWEB) December 09, 2013 -- The work of architecture firm Ward + Blake Architects of Jackson Hole, Wyo., is featured in a new book from fine art publishers ORO Editions. Titled “In the Shadows of the Tetons,” the monograph presents large-scale photographs of structures designed by Ward + Blake, including noteworthy residential, institutional and commercial architecture. In addition to the release of its new book “In the Shadows of the Tetons,” available on the ORO Editions website and via Amazon.com, the Jackson Hole architects were recently named 2013 Firm of the Year by the six-state AIA Western Mountain Region.
“It’s very rewarding to see the compilation of our hallmark projects in one book,” says Ward + Blake Principal Tom Ward, AIA, “and it’s exciting to have those projects represented through the work of such talented photographers and book designers.”
“In the Shadows of the Tetons” also includes the work of Jackson Hole photographer Ed Riddell, founder of Riddell Advertising & Design in Jackson, Wyo., as well as historical photos from the Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum. In addition, the book includes images by top architectural photographers including Paul Warchol of New York; Roger Wade of Montana; and Colorado-based Douglas Kahn, a former practicing New York City architect.
Marlon Blackwell, FAIA, who practices architecture in Fayetteville, Ark., and serves as distinguished professor and department head in the School of Architecture at the University of Arkansas, and David J. Buege, a professor and Fay Jones Chair in Architecture at the University of Arkansas, wrote the forward and contributed to the editorial content of the book.
Ward + Blake Principal Mitch Blake, AIA, met the publisher of ORO Editions in Singapore at the 2012 World Architecture Festival where one of the firm’s projects had been shortlisted for an award. “I was intrigued by ORO’s international presence and honored that they were interested in publishing our work,” says Blake.
