"You can become a better communicator by learning a few simple strategies, and the payoff in leadership effectiveness is huge.”- Pete Taft, ClearPoint Founder & CEO
(PRWEB) December 05, 2013
Taft and Partners, an award-winning marketing communications firm based near Princeton, NJ, is proud to announce the launch of ClearPoint, a new division focused exclusively on improving the communication skills of leaders and aspiring leaders. ClearPoint was born out of Taft’s 30 years’ experience with Fortune 500 companies, and its methods draw on extensive empirical research.
The launch of ClearPoint comes at a time when executive coaching is in demand. According to a survey conducted by the Stanford Graduate School of Business and The Miles Group, fully 100% of CEOs said they are receptive to coaching, but 66% of CEOs do not receive feedback from outside consultants. Seeing this need at the C-Suite and senior management level, Pete Taft, Founder and CEO, and Susan Nicholas, Managing Principal, created ClearPoint with a singular focus on improving the ability of leaders to communicate effectively in today’s information-saturated, 24/7 environment.
ClearPoint’s proven techniques draw on research and on its leaders’ years of coaching experience. “The research confirms what I’ve seen over the years,” says Taft. “Your face, your voice, the way you walk into a room all send messages. The leaders with the most ‘presence’ are the ones who have learned to control what and how they communicate. The techniques are simple, and they work. But they take practice.”
ClearPoint’s Taft and Nicholas have held significant business leadership positions where they saw firsthand this connection between leadership and communication.
Taft is co-founder and CEO of ClearPoint’s sister company, Taft and Partners, an award-winning PR, branding, and marketing firm. He is also founder of PharmApprove, a regulatory communications consultancy to the pharmaceutical industry. In his 30-year career as a writer and communications executive, Taft has coached hundreds of business leaders, scientists, politicians, and public officials in the art and science of effective communications.
Before launching ClearPoint, Nicholas built a distinguished resume in the C-Suite as CEO of several international multi-brand, multi-channel public and private companies, including TAG Heuer NA. She has mentored and coached countless managers and executives in increasing their confidence, self-awareness, and maximizing their potential. She earned her MBA with Distinction from the Wharton School.
ClearPoint offers courses, clinics, and coaching, each customized to a client’s need. Among the new division’s signature offerings:
- The Leadership Lab, which blends overview sessions, small group clinics, and one-on-one coaching to build awareness across the organization and foster demonstrable change in every participant
- The Write Stuff, an intensive three-part course designed to help small groups, teams, or larger divisions (up to 30 people) learn the tools, tricks, and techniques of writing with greater clarity, precision, and impact
- EnvisionIt, an intensive communications audit that assesses a company’s vision, mission, and positioning against its competitive landscape
“Whether in the Boardroom, before the press, or in critical one-on-one discussions, leaders need the skills and confidence to engage and influence others, foster trust, and ultimately, deliver superior performance,” says Nicholas.
Fortunately, these are skills executives can improve almost right away. Says Taft: “It’s a matter of practice. You can become a better communicator by learning a few simple strategies, and the payoff in leadership effectiveness is huge.”
