Ernst & Young LLP Adds Ex-IRS Counsel Steve Fattman
Washington, DC (PRWEB) December 06, 2013 -- Steve Fattman, former Special Counsel to the Associate Chief Counsel (Corporate) of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), has joined Ernst & Young LLP’s National Tax Department as an executive director in the Transaction Tax practice.
As Special Counsel, Fattman was a principal reviewer and highly involved in guidance and matters related to corporate spin-offs and reorganizations. In addition, he served in other positions in the IRS’s Office of Chief Counsel including as Branch Chief, Assistant Branch Chief and docket attorney.
“With 15 years of experience in the Office of Chief Counsel of the IRS, Steve possesses tremendous knowledge around transactions,” said Eric Solomon, co-director of Ernst & Young LLP’s National Tax Department as well as co-director of the EY Americas Tax Center. “There are tax implications to every transaction and we look forward to Steve’s in-depth understanding to help clients plan accordingly.”
Prior to his work at the IRS, Fattman was in private practice with law firms O'Melveny & Myers LLP and Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP.
