The 12 track album, '600 Years in a Moment' was recorded using a contemporary Australian Stuart & Sons piano in conjunction with ancient instruments from around the world. Fiona’s concept is to bring instruments and their unique sounds from across the globe to explore the hidden musical treasures of cultures in a modern musical setting.

“I have often wondered how globalisation effects music and how history changes our perception of instruments and the musical culture of our ancestors,” says Fiona.

Fiona Joy Hawkins is planning to take on an even bigger stage by pushing the New Age genre boundaries. An ARIA Finalist, MusicOZ Winner, IMF Finalist, and ZMR multiple category winner (Including Album of the Year), Fiona was recently awarded a Best Performance nomination, shared with the legendary Pete Seeger, as a top 5 finalist in the Independent Music Awards.

Producer Will Ackerman said that Fiona is, “one of the brightest lights in the contemporary instrumental genre.” Went on to say, “Fiona Joy Hawkins is poised to move into stardom and we have only to watch to see it happen.” - Ackerman (Founder Windham Hill Records)

With over 46 awards across 9 countries fiona has worked with internationally renowned artists such as the lateT-Bone Wolk (Hall & Oates), Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel, Dire Straits), Jeff Haynes (Pat Methany), Eugene Friesen (Paul Winter Consort) and Rebecca Daniel (ACO) and looks forward to touring Australia and the USA in the near future.

The album was recorded in multiple locations around the world from Newcastle Australia, Los Angeles California; New York, NY, Bremen and Portland, Maine; Halifax, Canada, and Imaginary Road Studios in Vermont with Grammy award wining team Will Ackerman, Corin Nelsen and Fiona Joy Hawkins at the helm. '600 Years in a Moment' was recorded in 96/24 and is available in several formats including CD, SACD (hybrid/multichannel) and double vinyl album with bonus track for audiophile listeners.
