Rossignol, an elite snowboarding company and board designer, recently joined forces with The House for a photo contest that's currently open to the public. From November 18th, 2013, through January 27th, 2014, anyone with a snowboard and photographer friend is encouraged to submit action photos that capture the essence of snowboarding.
The round that's open to the public is the first round of a three-round competition. To enter Round One and become eligible for Round Two, Rossignol and The House request that teams consisting of one snowboarder and one photographer do the following:
1. Take time to capture amazing photos beyond extraordinary.
2. Submit your best snowboarding photos through the Gnartography contest page.
3. Vote for your personal favorites to ensure the best teams reach Round Two.
At the end of Round One, a board of judges will select 21 teams to move forward into Round Two. Also, an additional 3 teams will move forward based on the highest number of public votes.
In Round Two, the qualifying 24 teams will compete amongst each other in a single-elimination, bracket-style competition by capturing and submitting more action photos. Unlike Round One, the three winners in Round Two will be solely determined by the amount of votes individual photos receive from the public. The 3 teams responsible for the photos that receive the most votes from February 3rd through March 10th, 2014, will win a trip to Park City, Utah.
The three Grand Prize winners will be announced on March 10th, the final day of Round Two.
After having due time to soak in the spoils of victory, the three winning teams will be flown to Park City, Utah, for a multi-day trip during April 2014 (specific day subject to weather). After receiving complimentary Rossignol gear and arriving at Park City, snowboarder/photographer teams will be given one final mission: submit five more action photos taken at Park City. Submitted photos will then be considered for 2014/2015 marketing material created by Rossignol Snowboards and The House Outdoor Gear.
