Backyard Travel Release New Thailand Tour: A Taste of Isaan
Bangkok, Thailand (PRWEB) December 06, 2013 -- The four-day, three-night tour begins in the gateway to Isaan, Korat – also the biggest city in the Northeast of Thailand. Once there, travelers can take in the key sites of the city including Prasat Hin Phimai, a temple that’s comparable to the majestic Angkor Wat in neighboring Cambodia.
As well as appreciating the local sites, travelers can sample Isaan delicacies such as the wonderfully spicy 'somtam' (papaya salad), 'nom tok moo' (spicy pork salad) and 'kai yang' (grilled chicken) and also visit a winery in the Khao Yai National Park to take a tour and experience a taste testing with one of the vineyard’s specialists.
Next, the insightful tour travels to Khon Kaen to allow an opportunity for trip takers to discover why this region of Thailand is famous for silk production and visit some of the area’s bustling local markets selling a range of exotic and interesting fruits and vegetables. Travelers can also sample the delicious Isaan sausages here, a signature food of the region.
The last day of the Isaan-insider tour takes travelers to Wang Nam Mok, a homestay project that provides both Thai nationals and international travelers the opportunity to get an authentic view of a traditional Thai village. Travelers will also take part in a private Baci ceremony to bless their onward journey.
Finally, travelers will learn the secrets of Isaan cooking in a private class with an expert chef who will reveal the tricks to producing authentic, traditional dishes from the Northeast of Thailand.
“Producing amazing food is something that Thailand is renowned throughout the world for, but within the country itself Isaan is well-known as the origin of many of the country’s most iconic dishes,” said Backyard Travel’s General Manager Maeve Nolan. “Also thought of as the ‘soul’ of Thailand, the Isaan region has maintained much of its authenticity and the smiling, welcoming people make the area a rewarding place to visit.”
