Leading provider of business security systems, AlertSystems, has offered comments after the release of CCTV following the alleged theft outside of LIDL on Cambridge Street in St Neots, Cambridgeshire.
According to an article in About My Area, published on the 4th of December, 2013, police have released CCTV images of two people following alleged pick pocketing activity occurring in the area. According to the article there have been multiple occurrences of the incident. One of which was reported on Friday November the 1st, when a man reported that his bank card had gone missing and money had disappeared from his account. He presumes that this occurred when someone distracted him by informing him that he had dropped some money.
A second incident occurred a week later on November the 8th. According to the article, on this occasion the victim claims that he was distracted whilst someone offered to pack away his shopping. On arriving home he discovered his bank called informing him that someone had tried to withdraw money from his account.
As specialists in business security systems, the experts at AlertSystems understand the importance of having CCTV security systems in place. As such, the company were interested in the recent release of these images and a representative for the company offered their comments:
“Unfortunately incidences of theft can affect a number of locations, from schools to businesses and individuals, so it is important to have sufficient security systems in place to protect against these incidences. Acts of theft can be particularly damaging to businesses, and so it is important to have security systems in place to protect the premises. The presence of a CCTV security system can act as an effective crime preventative, yet if an incident occurs, CCTV footage can provide vital information to police during their investigations.
“Installing a high quality CCTV security system means that the premises can be effectively monitored, with the camera recording high quality footage of the incident which police can use to further their investigations. The images can help to determine the course of events, while police can release the images for assistance with the identification of individuals they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.”
