It's Been 163 Years in the Making, But The 'Special Relationship' Between the US & UK Has Finally Made Its Mark in the Billiard Industry...

Since 1850, A. E. Schmidt have been hand crafting some of the very finest billiard tables ever made from their workshop in St. Louis. Now, some 160+ years later, a Schmidt billiard table has finally arrived in the UK and been installed as a centrepiece within a brand new upscale hotel and restaurant development in Cheltenham

We're very proud to be able to represent the oldest surviving family run billiard table manufacturer left in the US...

Leeds, West Yorkshire (PRWEB UK) 10 December 2013

When Ernst Schmidt arrived in the US from Germany in the early 1800s it's possible that he may not have been contemplating just how long it might be before, what would become his range of world renowned billiard tables finally made their way back to Europe. Which is perhaps just as well, given it's taken 163 years to do so!

However A. E. Schmidt in partnership with their UK distributor American Billiard Company, are proud to have been chosen as the sole supplier for brand new upscale hotel and restaurant, 131 The Promenade, located in the spa town of Cheltenham in the west of England.

Having made such a significant investment in style and quality, 131 The Promenade naturally required a billiard table that encompassed style and substance. With many prominent 'manufacturers' using 3rd part production facilities, being able to source a table crafted from solid wood with production techniques honed to perfection for a century and a half, the Schmidt table seems ideal for the project.

Mike Hemmins, director of Schmidt's UK importer and distributor American Billiard Company comments further; "We're very proud to be able to represent the oldest surviving family run billiard table manufacturer left in the US. Kurt Schmidt and his family have refused steadfastly to go with the flow and move production overseas. Instead they've stayed loyal to the concept of 'Proudly Made in the USA', which is clearly evident from the level of care and attention within each Schmidt table..."

The Cheltenham project may have been 163 years in the making for Schmidt tables to finally make their presence known in the UK and add their contribution to the 'Special Relationship' between the two countries, but it's not going to take that long for another Schmidt table to grace a UK game room
