A2B Tracking Receives Seaport-e Prime Contract Award
Portsmouth, RI (PRWEB) December 10, 2013 -- A2B Tracking, provider of advanced Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) systems, software and services used to identify, mark and track critical assets, has received a Seaport Enhanced (Seaport-e) prime contract award. SeaPort-e is the U.S. Navy's electronic platform for procuring support services in 22 functional areas using powerful web-based, e-business technologies. A2B Tracking will fulfill service needs in three of these areas: logistical support, supply and provisioning support, and in-service engineering, installation and checkout support.
“The intersection of what Seaport-e is requesting, and what A2B Tracking can deliver, reveals a uniquely advantageous set of circumstances for Seaport-e customers,” explains A2B Tracking President and CEO, Peter Collins. “The fundamental concept of serialized item management using the advanced machine-readable barcode such as IUID and RFID technologies that we’ve developed and continue to refine, inherently align with the need to track military assets and equipment throughout all stages of their lifecycle. It also provides full asset accountability for the FIAR (Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness) directorate.”
Meeting the AIDC needs of the military is nothing new to A2B Tracking. The company has been a leader in providing expert guidance in ongoing IUID and RFID policy and interpretation for the DFARs (Defense Acquisition Regulations System) and the DCMA (Defense Contract Management Agency). A2B Tracking can hit the ground running and enable significant improvements in operational performance, readiness, and efficiencies in asset availability and utilization.
The Navy Systems Commands (NAVSEA, NAVAIR, SPAWAR, NAVFAC, and NAVSUP), the Office of Naval Research, the United States Marine Corps, and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) compete their service requirements among 1800+ SeaPort-e Multiple Award Contract holders. The SeaPort-e portal provides a standardized, efficient means of soliciting offers from a diverse population of large and small businesses.
