Oakville, ON (PRWEB) December 08, 2013 -- St. Mildred’s-Lightbourn School Parent and Alumnae Associations are pleased to announce that they will host the Annual Traditions of Christmas event Saturday, December 7th from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with entrance donations supporting Home Suite Hope. The event will be held at St. Mildred’s-Lightbourn School, the premier independent all-girls' school for Preschool to Grade 12 located in the heart of Olde Oakville at 1080 Linbrook Rd., Oakville, ON.
"We look forward to welcoming so many members of our Alumnae and current SMLS community to the amazing Traditions of Christmas event! With crafts, games, baking and music - this event has something for the whole family to enjoy and is an incredible way to celebrate the holiday season," says Melanie Snyder, Director of Advancement for St. Mildred’s-Lightbourn School.
This year’s Traditions of Christmas event features over 50 crafters and artisans offering a diverse range of holiday gift ideas including accessories, artwork, clothing, food, jewellery, housewares, knit ware, pottery, woodworking, soaps, and toys. In addition to the multitude of unique gift ideas to be found, the event will also include a holiday bake sale as well as games and activities for children, including the popular alumnae-run Reindeer Games and the Parent Association’s Kris Kringle shop, where young children are assisted by student volunteers to do their own holiday shopping.
“We are thrilled to be welcoming such a wonderful array of crafters to this year's Traditions of Christmas Handmade Marketplace! Some are brand new to this event, and many are returning favourites. The quality of the participants, and the commitment and hard work of our Parent and Alumnae Associations continue to make this holiday tradition a huge success. And, because of the generosity of the community, we’re able to help Home Suite Hope, an important cause that helps families in need in our own community. What better time to give that type of gift than during the holiday season,” says Vicky Di Michele, Manager, Communications & Public Relations at St. Mildred’s-Lightbourn School.
Traditions of Christmas is an annual event organized by the school`s Parent and Alumnae Associations for the entire St. Mildred`s-Lightbourn School and Oakville community. This year’s entrance donations are in support of Home Suite Hope, an organization committed to helping single-parent families facing the devastation of homelessness.
