On December 4th, MonthlyClubs.com™, the premium gift of the month club site, was awarded as one of Internet Retailer Magazine’s Hot 100 E-Retailers of 2013. The Hot 100 is an annual award where editors at Internet Retailer Magazine personally review thousands of different websites for innovative e-retailing practice, taking into account submissions and recommendations from industry experts. Each editor submits about 20 final websites for consideration and the group upvotes and downvotes these submissions until they have their final hot 100.

MonthlyClubs.com™ was awarded a Hot 100 spot in the Flowers, Gifts & Jewelry category of the competition for what Internet Retailer Magazine described as their “indulgent design”.

Internet Retailer’s praise comes as the result of a complete site redesign that took the better part of a year to complete. Kris Calef, the founder of MonthlyClubs.com™ said the company invested heavily not just in product photography, but in content that describes exactly how the company selects the products that go into their monthly clubs. “We’re all about consistently providing quality selections. The strategy seems to have worked. All of the site’s key performance indicators, from behavioral metrics such as pages per visit and time on site, to revenue-related metrics like conversion rate increased after the launch of the new site in October of 2012. Calef said that, although the new design took a ton of work to implement and that consistent content creation continues to be a challenge, the new design was well worth the investment.
