The Grateful Table, by Brenda Knight

(PRWEB) December 09, 2013

Filled with fresh voices and contemporary expressions of thankfulness in a gorgeously giftable hardcover, THE GRATEFUL TABLE is a thoroughly modern book of blessings, both heartfelt and deeply profound. It now also available as an audiobook. Saying grace is one of our loveliest traditions and one that has stood the test of time for a good reason—it simply feels wonderful. Whether people hold hands and pray to the heavens above or wax poetic about the bounty of food, these blessings turn any group of people into a family, connected by the power of gratitude. THE GRATEFUL TABLE will make every occasion more meaningful!

Compiled by the editor of and collaborator on the runaway bestseller Attitudes of Gratitude, Brenda Knight has employed the practice of gratitude for years. She learned from her mother that you only get what you give. For this reason, she will be donating a portion of her proceeds to Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency (BOSS), which operates a network of housing and support services in Berkeley, Hayward, and Oakland, California.

The fast pace of our lives can seem like an infinite loop. For many, this includes the constant barrage of emails, a 24/7 workplace, busy families, the challenges of uncertainty, and life’s trials and tribulations. All of this can make it easy for someone to get sucked into a “poor me” cycle.

Instead of dwelling on the negative, David Mezzapelle recommends tuning to the positive. CONTAGIOUS OPTIMISM: Uplifting Stories and Motivational Advice for Positive Forward Thinking is inspired by the idea of “positive forward thinking” created by Mezzapelle, serial entrepreneur and founder of several well-known companies.

A graduate of Fairfield University in Connecticut, Mezzapelle worked with the students at Fairfield on the Contagious Optimism book project. It has proved successful for the students in several ways; many students are getting jobs or into graduate school based on the experience. A portion of the proceeds from for Contagious Optimism will go to Fairfield University and various charities.
