For a while we were really worried as rain looked likely but we did it in the end. I really hope that this puts Worthing on the map as one of the finest towns this side of the North Pole.

Worthing, West Sussex (PRWEB UK) 9 December 2013

Estate Agent, Robert Luff and Co, organised the event to raise funds for a local hospice, St Barnabas, as well as to give the people of Worthing, West Sussex a free afternoon’s entertainment.

The previous record was officially 762 but was recently exceeded with a yet to be officially confirmed 1000 plus, so the pressure was on the organisers to get a good turnout.

Fine December weather helped and viral social media marketing saw 1276 Elves down tools and arrive in Worthing in time to take part.

Robert Luff, 33, explains, “For a while we were really worried as rain looked likely but we did it in the end. I really hope that this puts Worthing on the map as one of the finest towns this side of the North Pole.”

Crowds were entertained by local bands and even the Elve’s boss, Santa himself arrived to oversee proceedings although was unavailable for comment when asked whether toy production could be jeopardised this Christmas.

Over £1500 has been raised so far with the final count estimated to exceed £2000.
