In its study, DeskAlerts’ communication experts found organizations and employees held an overwhelmingly positive view of social media with the majority classing it as a sign of innovation. 60% of employees were found to associate corporate internal social media with innovations. The DeskAlerts team were able to conclude that internal social media aided collaboration – with 61% of employees surveyed agreeing with this sentiment. Social media was also deemed to be more engaging with a further 58% of employees admitting that they would rather work at a company using social media than one that did not employee the medium.
