TBC Corporation Continues Long-Standing Relationship with Honda Classic

Tire Kingdom has made an enormous impact on The Honda Classic on so many levels since we moved the tournament to PGA National in 2007.

TBC Corporation (TBC), one of the nation’s largest marketers of automotive replacement tires, announced today that Tire Kingdom will remain the exclusive Founders Club Partner for the Honda Classic golf tournament event.

Since 2009, Tire Kingdom Service Centers, one of the retail brands under the TBC Corporation Family of Brands umbrella, has been the exclusive Founders’ Club Partner for the Honda Classic event, a 4-day tournament that attracts nearly 170,000 spectators.

One of the fan favorite components of this PGA-sanctioned golf competition -- this year scheduled February 27 – March 2, 2014 -- is the distribution of giant autograph golf balls that bare the Tire Kingdom moniker and are handed to more than 1500 children who attend the competition.

“The Honda Classic is a great event that attracts visitors to Florida from all over the world. We love that this event is in our backyard and that Tire Kingdom hosts such a fun-filled experience for the entire family, especially the kids,” said Scott Stoughton, TBC Chief Marketing Officer.

“Tire Kingdom has made an enormous impact on The Honda Classic on so many levels since we moved the tournament to PGA National in 2007,” said Ken Kennerly, Executive Director of the Honda Classic. “Their focus on charity and giving back to the community has been paramount, and thanks in part to their Founders Club sponsorship, we have been able to raise our charitable contributions from $600,000 in 2007 to over $2.1m in 2013. From sponsoring our fireworks shows on Friday and Saturday nights to our Saturday Family Day, the Gold Pro Am, and serving as a Pillar Partner in our Military Appreciation Program, Tire Kingdom has been there to support the Honda Classic in so many instrumental ways. From now until the Honda Classic tournament, Tire Kingdom will participate in several events including The Honda Classic 5K run/walk on January 18, 2014. These events benefit more than 120 South Florida children’s charities through the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation.
