Roadway Moving & Storage, a New York City Moving Company, Announces Inaugural Toy Drive
New York, NY (PRWEB) December 11, 2013 -- Roadway Moving & Storage, a New York City moving company, will be hosting an annual toy drive beginning this year. The inaugural event is scheduled to run from Tuesday, December 10 until Friday, December 20. Toys will be donated to The Children's Village.
“As a local business, we are committed to giving back to the people of New York City,” said Jeffrey Cadwallader, spokesman for Roadway Moving & Storage. “We're really hoping to see a big community response.”
Each day during the event, the moving company will announce a location through the company's Facebook and Twitter pages where people can donate toys. A truck will be parked for a period of three hours to collect donations.
Everyone who donates will be acknowledged on Roadway Moving & Storage's Facebook and Twitter pages. Donators will receive a certificate and will be able to fill out a personal message that will be given to the child that receives that gift.
The company is encouraging people to donate educational toys or toys that require physical activity. All gifts should be new and unwrapped.
“If you don't want to wrap the gift yourself, then just let us do the packing, since we are the professionals,” said Cadwallader.
Founded in 1851, The Children's Village is a New York City-based non-profit organization that assists struggling families in the community. The organization provides local programs that are designed to assist citizens with becoming productive and independent members of the community.
