State Theatre Ranked #1 Venue in the World in 2,000 Seat Category
New Brunswick, NJ (PRWEB) December 10, 2013 -- In its year-end report of “Top Stops” for 2013, concert industry magazine, Venues Today, has announced that the State Theatre has been ranked as the #1 venue in the world in the 2,000 and under seat capacity category (December 2013 issue), based on concert and event grosses from October 16, 2012 to October 15, 2013.
“We are very proud of this accomplishment, especially as we celebrate our 25th anniversary as a performing arts center this season,” said President & CEO Mark W. Jones. “This confirms that the State Theatre is a major player in the world of performing arts and concert entertainment.”
Other venues ranking in the top 10 include the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in Florida, The Hershey Theatre in Pennsylvania, Peoria Civic Center Theater in Illinois, and the Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center in Texas.
“We are very thankful for our community’s enthusiasm and their support, and we are proud to have earned a spot on this list amongst so many distinguished venues,” added Jones.
Performance highlights included Jackson Browne, Joan Rivers, the musical American Idiot, Liza Minnelli, NYE concert Salute to Vienna, Straight No Chaser, and The Irish Tenors.
